dry Why when a photo is .png, her size is not reduced and she does get the watermark text?

I have this setting on my photo module: if a photo size is bigger that 601 x 3000 then the size of the photo will be reduced and this setting works when a photo is .jpg but if a photo is .png then the photo size remains the same and she does not get the watermark text.

Why this setting does not work for .png photos?

Would be cool if the .png photos would be transformed into .jpg photos.
