Hello everyone,

I got a domain name gift from uCoz for : http://thassosvilabea.com/
Everything went well with getting the gift from uCoz.

Now a year later the domain will expire on 30 March 2017.

I ask you kindly if you can guide me how to renew this domain via either https://www.gandi.net/ or https://www.namecheap.com/

More specifically, since the domain is taken, will these official registrars allow me to renew it, and if yes, how will i prove that http://thassosvilabea.com/ is owned by me ?

If anyone with knowledge about this subject can provide some guidance i would be grateful.

Moreover after i renew it on another domain registrar, how to i reconnect the domain to uCoz (using Method 2. Transfer an existing domain to uCoz DNS servers) ?

The domain name is cheaper on certain official registrars than on re-sellers, and that is why i want to renew it with them, then move the name back to uCoz DNS.

Thank you so much !

Do i first need to transfer the domain to the new registrar, if the .com name is hosted by uCoz, then move it back to uCoz ?

Anyone can help ?

Thank you.

Hello Urs,

The issue is next if you want to transfer the domain to a new registrar, you need to fill in your personal details first at the domain.ucoz.com (this part is like a contract)

The details you need to provide are your full name, date of birth and your address. Only after it's done, you'll be able to transfer your domain to a new registrar, this way the transfer lock will be disabled.

The whole transfer process looks like this:

Hello,

I am using domain.ucoz.com NOT domains.ucoz.com

I have fill in the personal details.

Namecheap says :

On domain.ucoz.com i only see: Settings -> Registrar change and i get this :

Quote
I agree that Общество с ограниченной ответственностью "Юкоз Медиа" can submit registrar change requests on my behalf:

Subject to the Customer's consent received in compliance with the procedure stipulated by the Contractor, the Contractor shall be entitled to submit registrar change requests pursuant to the agreement between the Contractor and the applicable registering organization. The Contractor shall notify the Customer of the performed registrar change within 1 (one) business day using the Customer's email address specified in the Contractor's Service Management System.

Should the Customer disagree with the registrar change performed by the Contractor and notify the Contractor thereof via communication channels within 7 (seven) calendar days from the receipt of the said notice, the Contractor shall reinstate the previous registrar or appoint a registrar specified in the Customer's Order (if possible), subject to restrictions stipulated by the registering organization.

But if i press save and continue nothing happens.

What should i do next ?
Thank you.

Urs, if you've done everything right, in your domain.ucoz.com account you need to find the code to initiate the transfer. Take a look at the images, that I've sent you in a previous message. The code must be pasted from the side you want to transfer the domain to.

If you'd read the previous post carefully, you'll see that there's no single mention of domains.ucoz.com.

Urs, There's no need to duplicate threads to all the available forums. We can't answer all the users at the same time but still, we try to provide support as fast as possible.

I saw the image you posted initially, but i didn't manage to find out how to get there at first. I thought i had to select the checkbox in front of the domain name, then click on something. But at the end i found out that i had to click the actual blue link domain name to get to the picture you posted.

I read it very carefully, but being unable to get to that page, i thought you might have made a small error and showed how the process works on the other site.

But that was not the case, it was my mistake. If others ask then tell them to click the blue link to get to that page.

Excellent help thank you Gromov.

I made the transfer, i paid for it.

Now my last request is, Gromov, if possible, i want to ask the previous registrar (uCoz) if it is possible to speed up outgoing transfer for : http://thassosvilabea.com/ ?

Thank you again so much for the wonderful support.

Urs, glad to hear that you've managed to transfer your domain. As per your request for the transfer speed up a little bit, unfortunately, there's nothing we an do since it's a standard procedure and this one can't be performed any faster than it is.
