Well Dartz i did what you said and even checked the "Entry always on top" but still when i add different News the one i want to stay at the top of the page moves down.. i have a html code that is a countdown clock that i want visible on the top of my home page.. any other ideas ?

You are doing something wrong. If you mark the option inside the entry then
it stays at top. As for your clock, you can add it to side block instead. Or you
can edit Site Pages and add it before entries display.

ya the news entry is at the top of the page but on the Section categories page.. i was seeing if i could get a news article to stay at the top of the main (home) page. if not that's cool.. thanks for your help.

Most probably you also marked the option "Always on top" option functions in categories only.
