chrisdvanne, go to Control Panel » Design customization » Forum » Appearance of entries, and temporarily add the code "$ENTRY_MANAGE_ICON_BAR$" (without quotation marks) to somewhere before the message (like somewhere below your profile picture). After you have successfully edited/deleted your message, remove the code you just added.
