Hello I was trying to make sure I am not overlooking any type of bandwidth limit feature? I have 1 file in my catalog and it is downloading extremely slow. I am only reaching 24-30kbs with a 25M service and a friend is not even getting that with a T1 connection. Is it just traffic or am I missing something? Thanks, Pat

willy, as far as I know - the download speed will depend on your internet connection/strength. I am not 100% sure but I don't think the download speed is affected by uCoz itself. I understand your friend has tried downloading from your File Catalog too. But have you also tried downloading using a strong internet connection which you know, normally downloads quickly. I would recommend having an internet speed test - http://www.speedtest.net/

Also please provide the link to your website.

Kind regards,

I am sorry about the lack of info. My site is www.varolo.ucoz.com. I do not have the files open for the public to download. I have checked my speed about 6 times this morning to make sure and it was between 25-30Mb which is peaked right out from what I've seen in the past. I have even downloaded a file from download.com and had almost over 1MB so I doubt it would be my connection. My friend has better speeds then I do usually and he said that his was ok at his ftp host. Thanks for the help and any advice...

Ok I have added a file for testing the bandwidth in my file catalog if you want to try it Natashko. Thanks for the help btw.

If you do go to my site to download just use guest account as that's what I set the file catalog up for.

willy, we have checked your website. CreativeCollusions, seems to be right. By all appearances the problem is at your end. For testing purposes try to work from another copy of operating system, another computer and, if possible, using another network provider. E.g., you can check your website from one of Internet clubs as they meet all the mentioned conditions.
If you do not have such possibility, then it is desirable to do the following actions step by step:
1. Disable your firewall, antivirus while running diagnostics;
2. Disable the traffic saving services (e.g., Traffic Compressor);
3. Disable the torrent client or any other services that can create a lot of connections, if any;
4. Try to use another browser or update the current one. Maybe some necessary browser functions are disabled or are working incorrectly. If your Internet Explorer version is less than 8 – install latest Windows updates, or install Internet Explorer 8 as a separate package; if you use Opera version less than 10.60 or Firefox less than 3.6.3 – update the browser.
5. Make sure that cookies are accepted by the browser, clear the cookies history; check whether JavaScript is enabled in your browser; clear the cache (temporary files) of the browser

Thanks Natashko, I appreciate the help and advice. I went on a few hours later and was rocking so maybe just network traffic. My buddy went on right before i did and get good speeds too. Either way seems to be good so thank you very much.
