Control Panel (CP) -> Users -> User groups -> Click the '' icon next to the user group you want to have the ability to post HTML tags in the forum -> + Forum -> Tick the tick box beside 'Allow HTML tags in posts' -> Save

I've tried this, using the "Checked" group (renamed) but the "Allow HTML tags in posts" box is grayed out and un-tickable.

Any ideas?

Thank You

Zaphod, yes, this option cannot be enabled for the default Checked group. You can create a custom group and enable the option. But be careful, it is easy to damage a website by means of HTML codes.

Thank You for your help, Sunny smile

I tried creating a new group, using all the same settings as the "Checked" group, but with HTML posting, but something wasn't right - I switched all the users to the new group, but then they couldn't reply to posts or create new threads...

This took probably 30-45 minutes total, so shouldn't the changes have kicked in? Or should I wait longer for them to take effect? Or is it possibly some other problem?

Thank You

Hey Zaphod,

Make sure you gave the group the power to post, and create new threads on your forums. Do this by going to:

"Control Panel > Users > User Groups > Click the new Group you created > Forum Powers > Make sure the powers you want for users are Checked"

That should solve your problem. If not, please post saying so.

Bloodyboy450, the new group I created has all the items ticked that the "Checked" group (which works just fine, other than no HTML) had, with just the addition of HTML posting (I compared each one, line by line), including "Read forum (ability to enter the forum)", "Post new threads " and "Post replies"

But the users still cannot post or reply...

I just logged out, registered a new account, promoted it to the new group, and nope, no privileges.

Maybe I can just rename the "Friends" group and enable the HTML posting in it. - I had plans to use it eventually, but my users want their HTML! lol

Thanks for the help smile
