I have already restricted the file I have in file catalog to only a certain type of user but I am wondering if there is any security so someone could not just type in my url plus the file name and view/save it. I don't know how common it would be for someone to do it but I would imagine it could be done. Would the only way be to have the file on a different file server?

willy, if the person, who wants to view the file is in the restricted group - there is no way he/she will view the file, even like this

Natashko, I had my wife type in the exact link on her laptop and it did allow her to view the file with the option of saving. It's a pdf file and it opens right up when typing in the direct link from file manager. Any advice? Thanks

Natashko, Yes, well to be more accurate I changed her permission to a restricted group and then thought maybe her IP or other info was still logged possibly so I had a buddy that had not registered with the site at all check the direct link and he was able to view it too.
