ucoz CSS problem |
Ok, here is what I do to change the template and look of the site:
- go to template builder now my website looks fine with the new template BUT, if I go to Customize design -> CSS and click save (without changing anything in the CSS) my website changes to some crap look. Any help appreciated. |
Go to Control Panel > Settings > Common Settings > Select Design > Save
|
Quote (zephyrthru) Go to Control Panel > Settings > Common Settings > Select Design > Save I did that and as before the web site changes look as desired but as soon as I go to CSS and click save the site changes to some crap look. Post edited by marko - Thursday, 2010-12-16, 9:28 AM

Quote (zephyrthru) visit this url http://www.ucoztemplates.com/load/0-0-0-58-20 when u've downloaded the files, then extract them and read the .txt file named readme.txt I'm sorry zephyrthru, what's the point of this? (I have read the readme.txt btw) Added (2010-12-16, 3:45 Am) He says it was a server problem. Does the server has a problem now? How would I know that? |
my point is, maybe ur CSS code is not relevant with the templates that u choose. the url u've visited is a download link for the templates. i think that will help u.
usually, after you change the templates through the common settings, CSS will automatically changes with the templates CSS. and if u don't have any ideas, try to restore default templates Post edited by zephyrthru - Thursday, 2010-12-16, 9:55 AM

that's my point..
like i said above try to use a template that i already give. then follow the instructions that have been written in the file named readme.txt |
ok, I think I've got it...
You can't change the CSS if you load a new template as I said in the new post. you need to load it as Common Settings > Select Design > Save, then go to CSS and Restore default templates This might bring up the CSS of the template you loaded, otherwise each time you do something will revert to old CSS |
marko, I am not sure I understand what exactly you want to achieve. I hope these links will be helpful http://forum.ucoz.com/forum/5-422-1 http://forum.ucoz.com/forum/36-9267-1

Ok, here is what I think.
When you want to change your design layout (from template say #102) by loading one of the "skeletons of standard design" the new template (say #101 for example). If you refresh your website it looks good as if you just applied the #101 template. All great right? Yes until you want to change something in this layout. The moment you touch the code the new layout becomes the #101 with CSS of #102. This means that the template builder does't really import the CSS of the layout you have chosen, it just display it for once and then switches back to the old one. To get the correct CSS to load with the template the ONLY way is to set the #101 as your default layout in "Common Settings > Select Design > Save" then go to "CSS -> Restore default templates". Now you can start changing something in the #101 layout. |
