File catalog Main Page View (Anyone Can Help Me?)

I Want To Change The main Page View On File Catalog. It Looks Ugly When Everything Mixed Up In The Main Page.
I Want To Show Some Messages and The Category List On The Main Page. For Those Who Wants To Download Anything Needs To Go To The Correct Category.

Is It Possible?

And

I am Using A Custom Template On My Site. If I Click Restore Default Template, Will It Restore My Custom Template or The Default One?(841)

SirDarknight, it will restore the default template not your cutom one , you can create a backup that will save your custom template and you can restore that when something goes wrong

go to CP ---> Design ---> Templates bacup and create one

i'm not sure what you want but i think you can achieve that with informers or just placing links

You'll See All The Software's and Other Things Which Have Been Uploaded and Added To File Catalog Has been Showing There. It looks Very Crowd(Sorry, Can't remembering the Correct English Which Suits Here). I Want To Remove Them And Want To Put Some texts There and Below The text The Categories On File Catalog.

SirDarknight, okay , then go to CP --> Design ---> Design management (templates) ---> File Catalog ----> File catalog main page --->

Delete $BODY$ tag and put your content there , if you Delete the body tag all entrys will disappear from the page and you will have a white page then
