DEEPKG, i'm sorry but this is impossible without a high amount of custom coding , a vertical site menu will mess up your site news feature and overlap it , soi suggest you find another design that will fit your needs

DEEPKG, yes there are several ways
Restoration of a Module or page:
go to CP ---> Design---> Design management (templates) ---> your page ---> in the right corner "Restore Default Template"

if you want your whole site to have default design again:
go to CP ---> Settings ---> Common Settings --->Site design:
- Update the design for all active modules
