Hey everyone,

I have a problem, some users keep signing up to my website advertising inappropriate things in their bio such as:

  • Oral Jelly
  • Viagra
  • Potency drugs
  • Amoxillian drugs
  • Selling of illegal documents.

I have banned them and IP banned them but they come back with a different IP and username advertising similar thing like once every day.

I mailed them saying they are banned and their details will be passed to the proper authorities due to cases of illigality. but i just want to stop them perminantly.

Is there a way i could disable proxy? or extra security?

My website is www.pathsofmagick.com

Thank in advance.

Virgil, if a user has multiple uNet accounts it is unfortunately very difficult to prevent them from registering on your site again and again no matter how many times you have blocked them. The best solution found so far is to move users to the checked group and give them more permissions than users in the users group once you know that they are not going to spam/advertise.

I'm currently seeing if anything else can be done about this particular spammer but I am not sure on the response. wink

Virgil, continue to ban these users. You can also add their subnetwork, not only IP to the Ban settings. More info here: http://forum.ucoz.com/forum/9-2577-1

You can also limit their permissions, e.g. forbid users to write comments or add entries, or pre-moderate them (you can set it in "Set permissions for all groups")

Hope it helps smile
