Hello, I am an admin at http://apchemistry.ucoz.com and had a quick question. I want to change the popup login field so that instead of asking for "email" it asks "username." I edited the html for the "User login form" template to say this, but it didn't change the pop-up log in form. How can I fix this?
Alternatively, if I can embed the login page at the top of the website, I would be happy with this too, but I don't know how weep

I do not believe you can do this using the uNet user system.
If you pay for premium and set the site to use "local users", I guess you can.

And about embedding the login form on the top part of website; I'm currently writing a complete tutorial on that, so keep an eye out.
I'll link it when it's done.

AHammoud, Here's the tutorial. Ask away if you get trouble.

AHammoud, Acid is right, even if you edit the login form, website members won't be able to log in with usernames as switching to local users is available for premium users only.

Sunny, You can login with usernames right? But not edit the form to say "Username".

Ah nevermind, I think you could that at some point though.

On my site, I add all the members through the control panel, so they are automatically local users and not Unet users (even though I do not have a paid membership). But as local users, they cannot log in using their email address- only their username, and this is why I would like to change it to say "Username."

And to Acid, I'm looking forward to that tutorial, that would easily solve my issue. Please remember to link back when it's done.

I guess you can't then.
The actual login form is using the uNet system.

And may I ask why you add every member manually?

It's a class website, so there aren't that many people. It also prevents spam and keeps things nice and clean.
People who want an account send me an email with a username and email, and I just punch it into the control panel; it's a very quick process.
And also, with local users, administrators have much more control over the accounts.

Yeah, but seems like you'll need to get premium. Or simply try to rely on uNet.

Or, make a new user group, set all permissions you want them to have and simply make the guests, users and checked groups have less or no permissions.
And when someone registers they can't do anything until you move them into the new group you created.

AHammoud, it is possible to edit the form by means of a script. Unfortunately I can't provide it.

What do you mean you can't provide it? Why not?

Please?

AHammoud, because I am not a coder. I think it can be done on the basis of the script from this thread: http://forum.ucoz.com/forum/9-4835-1
