Is it possible for users to choose 'enable email notification about answers' without posting a reply to the topic?

And/or receive email notifications for new topics in a certain section?
...something like RSS, but its private so from what I've read RSS is only for public

TurtleTalk, if I get it right then we don't have such feature.

I'll try explain another way and maybe you can give me a suggestion.

I'm trying to move from a Google group where everybody was notified for everything. Ucoz is far better and solves the problem. My members want to know when there is a new topic and then decide if they want to follow it through.

I've discovered that most of them only know how to email and never went to the site.
The only way I can think of is to mass mail new topics and hope they eventually get the hang of it

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

TurtleTalk, well, for forum module you can use Mass PM dispatch feature. I am afraid there are no automatic ways unless a user replies to the topic.
For other modules there is such feature as "Notifications about updates" on User Bar.

i guess this might be the best thread to post my problem, i am not getting email notifications for any threads, posts, blogs absolutely no notifications at all even pm's. i am one of the administrators and never had this problem before, no one else is having this problem it seems. does anyone know how i can fix this? i already checked to see if i blocked ucoz or the website email address and that was'nt the case, i checked my profile settings and everything seems the same "email notifications" has a check.

mark, check your spam folder, try to change the email in Common Settings, try to contact your email provider.
