The long-awaited update has arrived!!!

With all our joy we are announcing that the long-awaited and frequently asked for feature has been released. From now on you can install SSL certificates on uCoz websites and the HTTPS is also at your service!!!

Check our blog for more details.

Firefox says after activating HTTPS.

Parts of this page are not secure ( such as images ).

What can be done ? (images inserted in page are via HTML and found on uCoz server.)

Do i have to change the address to HTTPS in HTML too when pointing to image location ?

Or should i let in HTML only /location.jpg instead of http://site/location.jpg or https://site/location.jpg so in the future i won't have problem with HTTP or HTTPS ?

Either of the above will resolve the issue. I would recommend using relative links like /location.jpg, so that you don't need to edit URLs again if you need to deactivate HTTPS for some reason or if you change the domain.

Thank you Sunny, i will use relative links as you recommended.

Is uCoz doing a permanent 301 redirect on a page level when changing from HTTP to HTTPS so all page rank from HTTP is moved to HTTPS version ?

Urs, yes, there is a 301 redirect. And HTTPS is treated positively by search engines in general.

Hi,

I have installed the https protocol to my website but when I test it at www.ssllabs.com I get a "C", mostly because the TLS version you're using is obsolete.
This is the message I get:

"No support for TLS 1.2, which is the
only secure protocol version."

Do you plan to update this in the near future?

chrisdvanne, yes, it's true that we have an old version of TLS, but this doesn't affect the performance or the safety of the certificate in any way. Although, we consider updating the TLS version in the relatively near future.
