uCoz Community Additional Services Account Management Security from hackers |
Security from hackers |
Greetings,
My friend had this problem. I'll quote him, "they have ow programs and scripts to bomb your forum accounts with 1 mil logins in 1 second. Then they hack e-mails and send you keyloggers". So I would like to know, does uCoz has security against threats from hackers like that. |
mmarkys, the issue you have described is impossible to be fully protected against. uCoz provide a secure service which will keep safe your information and the system part of your site, however it is the responsibility of the site owner to manage who he gives his information to, and the permissions of which he gives users. As long as you follow the basic security principles - so not giving out your CP pass to users and such. Your site should be fine.
In regards to your email - that is not a concern for us. If you are worried about that contact your email provider regarding your concerns and read over some of their policies. Jack of all trades in development, design, strategy.

hahah dont worrymmarkys,
.html is secure then .php.py etc 1=i dont think they will use paid hosting for that thing(mass mailer) and free will not let them to send mass mail, 2=they will use teleport for site cloning dont worry about, they can copy but cant use ur Url, 3=For key logging increase ur computer security, 4=do not open the mails of unkown guys, and dont use software provided by some unknown people or companies, or may be by ur friend, 5=For registration of user allow only ucoz, gmail, twitter, etc(which needs email verification for registration), the quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

mmarkys,
All your connections can be intercepted by the most dangerous hackers that exist - that are the ones working for Western governments. And, even if you use encrypted communications, like "https" connections, that doesn't help. Since that, such people have supercomputers that can easily decrypt [1] them. So, every time that you connect to somewhere on the Internet, using a password, that connection can be intercepted, and your password stolen. Therefore, the best way to keep your data safe, is to: 1) make regular backups of your posted content (uCoz has an already-built option, that allows you to do that); and 2) give some personal data on your uID, for you to be able to identify yourself, if anyone takes over your site (and, if you're worried about your privacy, you can always choose, on your uID configurations, which of your personal details are shown, and continue posting using a nickname) As for keyloggers, the only way to be safe from them, for sure, is to: 1) not use proprietary operating systems (like Windows) - since that, they can always have hidden spyware/backdoors, already built in them [2] [3] ; and 2) to only install Free Software (/"open source") operating systems, and programs, on your computer - like GNU/Linux (where it is possible to inspect such operating systems' and programs' source codes) Anything else that you do (or don't do), you're at your own risk... --- 1. http://rt.com/usa/nsa-gchq-encryption-snowden-478/ 2. http://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=101456.0 3. http://forum.prisonplanet.com/index.php?topic=101456.msg927263#msg927263 Signed,
