Goodboy, it looks like you're attempting to embed a direct page code inside of an existing page, which unfortunately, won't work. I'd re-read the tutorial and give it another shot.
If you're really looking at adding large quantities of custom scripting to your website I'd highly advise learning aspects of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
