Entry Approval Functionality

Greetings,

I am looking to add certain functionality to my website. In a forum I run (on a phpBB platform, for those interested) each first post by a newly-registered member must be approved by forum staff in order for it to be shown on the board publicly. As long as an entry isn't approved, the user cannot have their other posts be seen by regular forum visitors. I'd like to have a similar feature on my site, to which other registered users are currently uploading content freely.

Essentially, I want each new entry uploaded to the site hidden until it is approved by an administrator or a moderator. I realize I can hide entries myself using this little toggle - http://imgur.com/xBqRhc6.png - but would like this thing to be done automatically so I could decide whether to approve the post or delete it without having regular site-goers see it first. I realize a couple of questions like this one had already been asked before and replies stated this wasn't a default option, so I'm wondering whether this is still the case or whether you can find a workaround as code inserted into the site's framework manually.

At this point I ought to mention I don't know any coding myself but would highly appreciate other users helping me find a way to achieve my goal. Basically, have the option shown in the screenshot above be the default, without the users' ability to change it. Thanks in advance!

KliPeH, what you need is the pre-moderation feature, which is available in the User group settings smile Just go to the Control Panel of your website, select Users, click on User groups, and then on the Set permissions for all groups button. This will open you a bunch of settings. Just click on the name of your module in the list and enable the Pre-moderate new entries setting for the Users group. https://bigblog.eu/i/vo76lmlgke.png

After you have successfully enabled the feature and saved the changes, each newly-added entry will have a small tick in the moderation bar. Once you click on that, the entry is allowed and publicly displayed.

Øwãís, the following screenshot is taken in a module other than the Forum: http://i.imgur.com/xBqRhc6.png

bigblog, Agreed this is not the forum screenshot. I thought this above KliPeH message might need this functionality in forum too.

I agree, it should be applied for forum too.
