Not Displaying Images |
Hi all
I just created a ucoz account and uploaded my website. Some of it works, but the images do not display properly. You can see it here: http://www.sportsgrinder.ucoz.com/SportsBetting.html All the buttons on the left should have pictures on them and there should be a banner at the top (and icons in the main pane before each entry). The only image which is displaying okay is the page background. It works absolutely fine on my local PC and I haven't changed any of the file structure. The banner image may be a little large, so I can understand that one not working, but the others are tiny. Any insight? |
piemaster, probably you haven't uploaded the images or just specified the wrong paths to them, e.g. there is no image by this link http://sportsgrinder.ucoz.com/images/mainbanner.png
P.S. Please note that it is not allowed to build a website consisting of static .html pages only, you should use at least one uCoz content module. Besides, visitors of static pages are not counted and your website may be disabled for inactivity. I'm not active on the forum anymore. Please contact other forum staff.

Quote (Sunny) piemaster, probably you haven't uploaded the images or just specified the wrong paths to them, e.g. there is no image by this link http://sportsgrinder.ucoz.com/images/mainbanner.png No, the images are definitely there and in the right places (as I said, the exact same file structure works fine locally). See below for evidence. The other image (sportsbg.png) in the same location seems to work. http://i373.photobucket.com/albums/oo177/PiemasterUK/NoPic_zps7dd77270.png Quote (Sunny) P.S. Just trying to host my website somewhere temporarily for free so I can get people to check it on other machines. |
piemaster, It shows in the evidence that both of the pictures were uploaded to File manager. Please delete "Main banner.png" from the folder and upload it again. See if it helps. Could be a bug. Static pages are custom HTML webpages. It looks like you've uploaded custom html webpages to the filemanager and you are using it as a website. But if you are using the website like that , You will not get to use the user module , or any other module. Use atleast one module or as Sunny has mentioned above :

(Content management system) used to build websites. And uCoz cannot be used to host your own custom static HTML website. My Skype : xayan123 | My Twitter : @Officialxayaan

Quote (piemaster) No, the images are definitely there and in the right places Not exactly, the folder name is "Images" (capital I), not "images". And if we change http://sportsgrinder.ucoz.com/images/mainbanner.png into http://sportsgrinder.ucoz.com/Images/mainbanner.png then we'll see the banner. Just rename the folder into all lowercase letters. I'm not active on the forum anymore. Please contact other forum staff.

Try it Before you leave uCoz. That's the whole point. I am trying to improve my HTML, CSS and Javascript, the end product is a secondary concern, and so using a site-builder is counterproductive. That's why I was looking for free hosting as I don't need much space or bandwidth, just somewhere to plonk a simple site where I can get feedback from friends etc. Thanks for your help all, much appreciated. |
