How can I change the banner in this theme?

Elwih, if by the banner you mean the picture of the woman, then you can change it Control Panel -> Design customization -> Style sheet (CSS). Find the following line (#51)

#promo {background:#131212 url(/.s/t/1201/promo.jpg) 50% 0 no-repeat;border-top:1px solid #403c38;border-bottom:1px solid #403c38;height:412px;line-height:600px;text-align:center;}

and replace /.s/t/1201/promo.jpg with your custom image link.
