About this, can you tell me after i get the .com as a gift can i go to an official domain name registrar like https://www.namecheap.com/ and extend it for another 9 years ?
They say that https://www.namecheap.com/domains/transfer.aspx Quote You’ll retain all remaining time on your domain’s registration, and, in most cases, add another year. The process is risk-free and comes with our money-back guarantee. AND Quote Zero-dollar transfer fee • Value-priced one-year renewals So when i first transfer it i can only extend it for only 1 year for $9.69 (with uCoz gift it means 2 years in total). Correct ? Now my question is after i do this transfer, if i chose Method 3 of domain attachment : Quote Method 3. Attach an existing domain name without transferring the domain to uCoz servers Keywords: subdomain attachment, attachment by specifying IP address, creation of A-records Specify the IP address "213.174.157.140" (A-record) for the domain name in the domain control panel. Wait until the changes take effect (usually up to 6 hours). In 6 hours finish the attachment procedure: The domain name will remain on namecheap servers, correct ? So after two years when i have to extend the domain by 10 years it will continue to stay on namecheap servers. Correct ? Now if i use instead Method 2 : Quote Method 2. Transfer an existing domain to uCoz DNS servers Keywords: change NS records, park domain, domain hosting, change name servers, change DNS servers You will be able to create subdomains and set up e-mail processing (under your domain) through our interface. First of all, park the domain and wait for further instructions. The domain will be hosted by uCoz. But after 2 years when i need to renew for another 10 years the domain on namecheap, what will happen with the domain ? Will it move back to from uCoz to namescheap ? Is this technically another transfer and i will have again to buy it for 1 year ? Is moving the domain name from namescheap to uCoz by Method 2 technically a transfer ? I want to benefit from the uCoz gift for a .com but i also want to buy for 10 years the domain name after the transfer because namecheap is considerably cheaper. So in this case what would you chose Sunny ? https://www.namecheap.com/support....mecheap Thassos Island Portal :

About this, can you tell me after i get the .com as a gift can i go to an official domain name registrar like https://www.namecheap.com/ and extend it for another 9 years ? After you register your gift domain with uCoz, you will be able to transfer it to another domain registrar. BUT for a .com domain this can be done only 60 days after the registration of the domain. This rule is established by ICANN (the domain regulatory body) and applied to all domain registrars. So when i first transfer it i can only extend it for only 1 year for $9.69 (with uCoz gift it means 2 years in total). Correct ? I'm afraid I'm not aware of the renewal rules of other domain registrars. The domain name will remain on namecheap servers, correct ? So after two years when i have to extend the domain by 10 years it will continue to stay on namecheap servers. Correct ? The domain will be hosted by uCoz. But after 2 years when i need to renew for another 10 years the domain on namecheap, what will happen with the domain ? Will it move back to from uCoz to namescheap ? Is this technically another transfer and i will have again to buy it for 1 year ? Is moving the domain name from namescheap to uCoz by Method 2 technically a transfer ? The domain will stay on the name servers you set for it. The domain registration/renewal does not depend on the name servers. If you transfer the domain to Namecheap, it will be registered with Namecheap and you can have the domain hosted either with Namecheap or uCoz. To put it simply, a domain registrar is where you pay for the domain (its registration and/or renewal), and a domain hoster should not be necessarily the domain registrar, it is often the service where you host your website. Thank you for clarifying this. :D So after i get the .com gift there is no reason no to attach the domain via Method 2, because when i transfer or renew it on namescheap it will still be hosted on uCoz. Right ? The only question left is what happens when for an unknown reason i have to detach the domain that is hosted on uCoz servers and attached it to another website from another service provider. Is that possible in an easy manner ? It was an afirmation not a question. It is $9.69 for transfers (+1 year) instead of $10.69 normally. Unfortunately on uCoz a .com is $14.58 Is http://domains.ucoz.com/ an official ICANN accredited registrar ? Or an affiliate reseller of an official registrar ? Thassos Island Portal :

Yes, you can use Method 2 and still transfer the domain to Namecheap. The only question left is what happens when for an unknown reason i have to detach the domain that is hosted on uCoz servers and attached it to another website from another service provider. Is that possible in an easy manner ? Yes, it will be possible to connect the domain to a non-uCoz website and it can be easily done. Is http://domains.ucoz.com/ an official ICANN accredited registrar ? Or an affiliate reseller of an official registrar ? uCoz is a reseller. I'm not active on the forum anymore.
