| Noob here: free hosting with similar features like ucoz.com? |
I used to run a text-based RPG on ucoz and we are looking to do a major revival/redesign to get it up and running again. It's currently hosted for free on ucoz.com because it's the only site I could find that allows us to have both forums and regular pages all on the same sidebar. Does anyone know of an alternative site that isn't so intrusive and clunky (ucoz has gotten way worse over the years) that we could move to? I don't mine a ".domain.com" type of thing since we're looking for free. Thank you!

I guess you could use a free web host with Wordpress + plugins (for example, this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/asgaros-forum/) but free web hosts often come with limitations and drawbacks. It's also not exactly plug and play like uCoz. You can also use a service such as https://www.proboards.com/ if you only want a forum, but I don't know how much you can personalize it. If it was on me, although this costs money and it's not easy to set up, I'd go for a VPS (virtual private server) running Discourse.
