Control Panel » Forum » Management of forums and sections

You can assign a site moderator or an administrator only via the Control Panel.

1. To assign a moderator to the forum log into Control Panel through http://site_address/admin .
2. After you have got to the CP main page go to the Forum section.
3. Click on "Management of forums and sections".
4. Choose the forum where you want to assign a moderator and click "Change" (wrench icon).
5. Find the line "Forum moderators:".
6. Click "+" near the window.
7. Enter the username of the moderator you want to assign and click "Search".
8. After the user have been found click on his/her nickname.
9. After you have clicked on the username the user will be added to the "list of moderators"
10. Save the settings and go to the forum pages to make sure that the moderator has been assigned.

create tifferent moderators groups.(8 groups is max)
Set different permissions to groups to access seperate forums.

Lemur, I agree with Jan. What you are going to need to do is create different User Groups on your site for each different level of moderator and then edit each forum boards settings (Control Panel > Forum > Editing Forums & Sections > Edit Forum) so that the low-level moderators are restricted from accessing the boards.

This should achieve your desiredd result. Good luck wink

Ouch again! I have 7 user groups already. So I can't add more than one other?

Lemur, you can have a total of 15 user groups including Guest & Blocked. Jan was saying that you can create an additional 8 user groups to what you originally start with. wink

Yeah, I wasn't counting the original settings. I already have 7 custom user groups. The ONLY original user groups I'm using are Admin, User and Moderator. Oww. Thanks much.

I cilck Forums>Forum Section and Management and it brings only my forum up. None of the options shown above.

because you don't have them, you will have the one you have created ( forum section )...

DavidJr, it is not possible to assign more than 5 moderators to a forum board, but you can add as many moderators to the group as you need.

DavidJr, you can create as many moderators as you need. Just don't set in the permissions that moderators can moderate only certain boards (Control Panel -> Users -> User groups, the option "Use control functions (marked in red) only in forums where a user is the moderator ").
