Switch site menu from vertical to horizontal

Hi. We are currently using design style # 987 that has vertical site menu. We would like to change it to the horizontal menu on the top. I was looking for an example on the design style #798, but when I tried to move our $SMENU_1$ to the top block, it appears as vertical rather than horizontal list. How can we do that?

Lu, you need to create first a new horizontal menu via Site Menu Builder and then paste its code into the place where you want it to appear.
