I have enabled use of HTML tags in forum posts (to make it possible for images to be resized) but I notice that box is checked by default. Is there any way to change that? (I mean the box at Message options, like "Enable smileys", which is also checked by default)

(Or even better, does anyone know a way to resize images using BB code?)

Dimitrias, you can make images have a default size when people upload them. so you don't need to worry about people uploading to big images

If you go to CP->Users » User groups » Set permissions for all groups->Forum->Allow HTML tags in posts->uncheck this box for a certain group the checkbox "Enable HTML tags" will not be shown for such users. If you want the checkbox to be there, but you do not want it to be checked by default - you can do it by using scripts. Unfortunately, we do not provide help with it.

It is not possible as far as I am aware. Animorph, suggestion is the best option, I believe

No, it's not showing. I mean the ad in the message not at top of the page.
