Lots of people have already created their first website but have no idea what to do next. Some folks try to learn everything by themselves while others simply give it up. In fact, creating a website is only half of success. The web site should be optimized and visible to search engines.

In other words, if you want your website to reach adopted goals, SEO is a MUST! Well, fellas, if you have any questions regarding SEO - you are welcome! I will help you all I can! smile

Sorry for such a late reply...

It is really difficult to give a definite answer to such a broad question :-) The best methods are the ones you are really good at and the ones you can actually use. That is why I give a brief list of strategies that can be successfully used.

However, it is up to you to choose the best in your particular case:

- Backlinks from articles
- Backlinks from profiles
- Comments from websites
- Links exchange
- Registrations in websites catalogues

Feel free to ask more questions...

Nicky8147, all new uCoz websites undergo a quarantine period of around a month where no bots can crawl them. Once this 40 day period has ended your site will be able to be catalogued and crawled. Please continue here and remember to use search before asking questions; http://forum.ucoz.com/forum/23-4687-1

Hope this helps, happy

Hi, let's start with a little bit of theory (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nofollow).

In fact, it means that as a site owner you do not want to have any relation to the targed site of the backlink.

In terms of backlinks value, dofollow is preferable. However, we need various and natural backlinks. That is why nofollow backlinks are unavoidable.

I would recommend to check out quality of the site to which the backlink leads. If this is a blog in a related niche and you want to post a comment, while the site owner allows posting backlinks, it does not really matter that this backlink has a nofollow status.

Hello community of uCoz.
Recently there have been some changes to the page URL. I observed that it is only on the home page of the module.

But Google was warning of pages with duplicate titles and descriptions, so I use rel="prev" and rel="next" with the code below.
Code
<link rel="prev" href="http://example.ucoz/?page<?$CURRENT_PAGE$-1?>"/>
<link rel="canonical" href="http://example.ucoz/?page$CURRENT_PAGE$" />
<link rel="next" href="http://example.ucoz/?page<?$CURRENT_PAGE$+1?>"/>

If the page is the number 2 will print it:
Code
<link rel="prev" href="http://example.ucoz/?page1>"/>
<link rel="canonical" href="http://example.ucoz/?page2" />
<link rel="next" href="http://example.ucoz/?page3?>"/>

The problem is that the last page cannot have rel="next" as shown in this article in the official Google Webmaster blog http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com.br/2011....ev.html

I'm using the blog module currently.
Is there any way for me to know what the last page of paging? Does anyone know any alternative?

Yes, there have been changes, and not only for the module home pages.

It is not very clear for me how rel="prev" and rel="next" are related to duplicate titles and descriptions. If you are worried about duplicate titles, I would suggest that you add page numbers by means of editing the templates - and you'll get rid of duplicates. You can do this with the help of the $CURRENT_PAGE$ variable. E.g. for the Site News and Blog modules it will be as follows:

Add before :

Code
<?ifnot($CURRENT_PAGE$='1')?> - Page $CURRENT_PAGE$<?endif?>

And for the description:

Code
<meta name="description" content="Short description of the category <?ifnot($CURRENT_PAGE$='1')?>, page $CURRENT_PAGE$<?endif?>"/>

And you will have titles like:

Entry archive - Site name - Page 2
Entry archive - Site name - Page 3
and so on.

I'm not active on the forum anymore. Please contact other forum staff.

$CURRENT_PAGE$ will output the code <span><b>1</b></span>

It could not be put in the meta description.

Sunny, thanks for the reply.
I've thought about this too, but I believe that is not a good option. Let only the last page of the pagination ready for a 404 and wait what Google thinks about this. If it doesn't work use the technique you mentioned.
Thank you.

lanh, $CURRENT_PAGE$ prints only a natural number corresponding to the current page.
