Can I transfer my site to another server ?? |
I bought a domain & server space, can I transfer my site to it ??
And If I do that, will I have all the access, plug-ins, designing & everything I have here ?? And if i can do that ... I will need a step by step guide on transfering and installing, cos I can do everything that has to do with my design page, but as far as host services are involved ... I am irrelevant !! Ucoz is easy to use ... I love Ucoz !! Waiting for ur reply, |

Since I've never tried to convert the files myself, I do not know. But for safety, I suggest you get someone experienced to do it for you, otherwise you could mess up the database and lose all of its content.

Quote (djwarez) And If I do that, will I have all the access, plug-ins, designing & everything I have here ?? Nope. All you can transfer is content. Isn't it easier to simply attach your domain to uCoz website? ( http://forum.ucoz.com/forum/37-435-1 ) and buy additional space from uCoz? I'm not active on the forum anymore. Please contact other forum staff.

can the content of one ucoz site be copied entirely to another?
the reason i ask... i am one of the admins on a ucoz site. the person who created this for our use forgot the password to the control panel, so is the only one who can access it using firefox's remember password feature. this is the only method to upgrade users to the level i need, but the original creator has gone missing on us. my thought was to create another site, and have the original site contents transferred over to it... is this at all possible? Quote (Sunny) tayls, you can do this by means of the backup feature. But in your case isn't it easier to go to ucoz.com and use "Lost password" feature? since i was not the original creator of the site, that information wouldn't be relayed to me... and with the creator of the site missing, wouldn't do me any good to have it sent to her.
