Im trying to create a new page on my site, so i press add menu item then add page name in the site menu builder . but what do i do with the URL? when i try 2 type a URL and save it says Resource not found.

I'm not sure if you think the Site Menu Builder is for creating pages, it is for modifying the menu on the website. To add new pages go to Control Panel -> Page Editor -> Pages management.
If otherwise, then you are probably just inserting an in-active address.
