Apologies if this is addressed elsewhere. I searched and couldn't find the answer.
What is the difference between a "friend" and a "user"? I want to allow random folks to sign up for a small portion of the forums. However certain other folks should have access to a larger portion of the forums. And a further part of the forums should only be accessible to admins and such. I'll be adding the "larger portion of forums" folks personally. I want "normal" off the web users to not have access to higher levels. Is there anything else I need to know? |
Lemur, in the default setup of groups from what I know the Friends group has more permissions than Users. You can change these permissions for all groups at any time you wish through opening Control Panel > Site Users > User Groups > Set permissions for all groups.
As for the forum permissions open Control Panel > Forum > Management of forums & sections. Now select the forum you wish to restrict access to and adjust the permissions accordingly. You will find more information on this topic here: http://forum.ucoz.com/forum/9-2123-1 Hope this helps,
