The old bar was 100% screen resolution width & 22 px height.

Let's see :

1. Use Google Ads :

(468x15) Displays 4 links

You can use one after another like 2 x 468 = 936 pixeli (1000 px - 1024 px being the minimum acceptable resolution)

There is also the option :

(728x15) Displays 4 links

No use since you can have up to 8 links with the version above this one (2 times x Ad)

2. Also the graphic version exists :

(168x28)

You can have 6 one after another ( 6 x 168 = 1008 px ).

Other models made by me.

Exemplu 1 & Exemplu 2 represent the two variants from above put into practice.

Exemplu 3 represents : 1000px x 28px with 5 Ads !

Exemplu 4 which is the best represents : 1000px x 22px with 5 Ads !

Also based on Example 4 : http://u.to/SwzQAQ

You could make 5 Ad slots (1 slot = 1 banner 200 x 22) that uCoz sells directly on all uCoz sites or specific language uCoz sites.

If i want to make an advertisement on uCoz i will have to pay for either a number of impressions, pay per click or for a commercial that last a limited time.

In this way uCoz has it's own Ad platform, gets all the money and has total control over how it works.

***

Advertisements as the current one, can not only be easily blocked, but are automatically blocked by anyone who has installed Adblock Plus. The advertisement will appears empty and uCoz will get no money.

Too many ads in the same spot make it "cluttery".
And also I'm pretty sure these won't be used either, the uCoz staff handles these kind of things themselves.
They base their ads on which companies they're getting the ads from, so there is no point in designing ads.

And also, text ads like the first you posted, already exist, it's close to exactly what the top bar is.
Google doesn't pay off that much, not worth ugly ads.

ursuletul, I answered to that too. Cluttery, very difficult to read, and looks bad.
Advertisement is not about adding as much as possible in the same area. Instead you make it rotate through a number of different ads.

I find the current bar with text and links only the best simple ad. It's one of the first things people see, and looks okay.

It's a big difference from: 22 px to 90px.

As i already said it is not efficient in helping uCoz get more money since many users use Adblock.

We need an alternative that can : bring money to uCoz and have an advantage when compared to the competition.

ursuletul, I'm talking about the original thin top banner.
And if people choose to use Adblock, it's because they don't want to see any ads, then you mustn't force them to.
I think the ad bar has pretty good advantage, since it's simple and doesn't disturb people when being on the site.

Making people leave your sites isn't really helping, now is it?

ursuletul, Acid, the uCoz staff do already handle what's happening with the adds and such as said before. I personally can understand your concerns regarding this matter although the final decisions are to be made by uCoz team. Kurt/Sunny will be on within the next two days and should be able to give you a more solid description of what is happening then.

Let's discuss the appearance of the uCoz ad banner within one thread: http://forum.ucoz.com/forum/6-15108-1
