The format of the new banner will be 250х300 The uCoz Team Hello all, Can somebody explane why today an awfull ad was visible on my website on the right upper site of the main page. Not a small one that normaly is visible horizontal and with one can live with. Basically, I'd really like to not have to find another host site. I really like ucoz. I'm just very disturbed by the advertisements. Luckily it seems as though I am the only one from my group who can see them, but if that changes I don't know what I'm going to do because they won't tolerate that.

Dear users! Due to the technical glitch a banner from the wrong group (for +18 websites) was displayed. It has already been fixed. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.
Please remember, that premium websites are protected from such inconveniences. Of course we will do our best to avoid such glitches in future. Besides, if you have a school or other social project, the banner can be removed without payment: http://faq.ucoz.com/faq/27-1#275 I'm not active on the forum anymore. New appearance of UCoz banner
Thank God, the problem is fixed. It's back to the regular banner! As mine is an educational website, I also took the moderator's advice and sent a request to disable the ad banner just to be safe. That "mistake" really freaked me out. |
I want to say that ucoz is best and cheapest way to build a website. 3$ a month is a price that absolutely everyone can afford it. Advertisements are not at all rude. I am a parent and I would never forbid a child to visit a website that has advertising as ucoz websites. Thanks to ucoz team. Its only one way to remove banners. One saturday night dont go to the club and by basic package.

I've also got there ad's: There are children on my website. How should I Explain this??? I've got already recieved serval messages wich want an explantation, can you give me one please?? Please restore it till the previous one! (The yellow horizontal bar) Raymond |
I'm still having the sexual ads all over my website, can you look into the problem please?
|
Well, if you were going to show ads on your users' websites, at least think about the visitors and the style of the ad. Look at this? Wouldn't anyone just close the website if they saw this?
I'm totally unsatisfied with this. And not every student can afford to pay 40$+/year to disable ads. Attachments:

Sunny, It appears regularly on the website, regardless what browser I use.
For that screenshot, I was using Android 4.4.2, Opera browser. I can't remember the IP, but I wasn't using any IP hiding softwares. For what it's worth, I suggest you make a module with an essential tag (like $POWERED_BY$) to manage the ads (For example: the type of ads, design, container size, etc...) just like Google's AdSense |
These pornographic ads are automatic and automated. They are on all sites from all countries.
I talked with Raver in the past, but the only solution he said is to buy a premium package. Instead of devoting time to make a slim banner where anyone can buy ads directly from uCoz to promote their business they prefer to put these huge unsupervised random ads in order to make some money. I fully support uCoz, and i am a premium user but i am sad to see no proper business model on the ads part. *I made many examples of slim ads, like the old one 22px that uCoz could have implemented but i guess only the Russian community dictates, and they prefer to change their core system rather than fix the advertisement problem that scares many new and old users. Not to mention showing pornographic content to children without warning them first. Welcome to planet earth where money makes the rules. *Take a look, click the pictures : http://forum.ucoz.ro/forum/2-916-5964-16-1331391580 This one has a closing button on the right side and another button to buy ads from uCoz. http://forum.ucoz.ro/forum/2-916-6003-16-1331451319 Thassos Island Portal :

Urs, I'll wait until my website's third anniversary and then decide what to do.
It would be shame to leave uCoz after 7 years of use and joy. |
Direct link to example :
http://s18.postimg.org/q1zqbmld5/Exemplu5_1011_x_22.png http://postimg.org/image/w2xf8p7z9/ Total area :1000 x 22 meaning five ads 5 x 200x22 2 buttons of 11x11 each, so total area is now 1011 x 22 The X button closes the bar. The R button (or whatever letter you want for each country) leads the user to a page from where he can buy ads that will be displayed on uCoz sites, to promote his business (depending on the target audience). Another example missing the two buttons : http://s18.postimg.org/w4krz1eah/Exemplu4_1000_x_22.png http://postimg.org/image/80u0aqvth/ So uCoz should have a systems similar to Google Adwords, very slim bar that encourages people to promote their business. while attracting new users instead of scaring them off.
