How reliable is the e-mail forms module ?

There are many times when the users get the confirmation that the message was sent but no mail arrives. (try sending two times a mail one after another with slightly changed text)

I use gmail since yahoo is known to have problems with receiving emails properly.

The mail is not in spam folder either.

Vorpal, there shouldn't be any problems with gmail. What e-mail is entered as the sender's email in the e-mail form?

wait sometime
it comes for some weird and unknown to me reason few minutes after REGISTRATION message mail

Maybe, I could use this topic and ask Sunny:

1) which exactly (list, please) activity is forbidden or limited until a new user did not confirm his \ her e-mail?
Can not found any answer to this.

2) how I can DO NOT ALLOW entrance to site (LOGGING IN, not just vieweing I mean) until the mail is not confirmed?
because otherwise, I can not really see any reason for this verification mail sending..
I know that without the verification user can not restore passwords, but.. thats it????

Thank you for your time !

Unfortunately there's no way to prevent logging in. As to your first question - I'm actually not sure. I believe it prevents them from posting, however, I'll confirm and get back to you. smile

GEM, I assume you have local users on your website? E-mail verification helps against spam to certain extent. And if a user does not confirm his/her e-mail, such user won't get notifications from the website (about new comments and answers to their forum threads, for example).

how I can prevent user from LOGGING IN to my site, before he\she verified an e-mail address?

With the standard system tools it is not possible. As far as I understand you don't want users with unconfirmed emails to be able to view your website? In this case you could use the Auto-transfer feature: close the website for Users, and automatically move them to Checked after they confirm their emails.

GEM, permissions for user groups are set separately, i.e. Guests and Users can have different permissions.

Guests on my site say from time to time that they have written the contact form, received the confirmation message, but no mail was sent to me :

One of them was yesterday. I am using gmail.
Could there be some server related problems ?

Urs, are they entering a yahoo e-mail into the "Sender's e-mail" field? If yes, we are aware of the problem and the technical specialist are examining the issue.

Well this is a major problem. Of course, at least 50% of the people that visit my site use yahoo as a mail service.

Can you tell me when this will be fixed ?

For how long has this problem existed ?
If i remember correctly some of my customers told me about this like 6+ months ago !

It's yahoo mails that seem to not work.

Can you please also tell me in e-mail forms how many individual forms can be made ?
For example can i make 200 or 2000 e-mail forms for different pages and languages ? What is the limit ?

I can't tell you the exact date. I'll check with the technical team.

Did you report the problem? This exact problem was identified not so long ago. If it existed before, we didn't receive reports about it.

You can create 50 e-mail forms and 10 'Tell a friend' forms.
