Natashko, thanks, but there is to many of them!
I think if someone makes a toolbar for browsers the third-party scripts should not be a problem I mean I have many toolbars, but they are working correctly. Any why, I don't need it, it's not so useful for now. |
Hello uCoz team.
For the past couple of days, I've been receiving multiple reports from users of my site about problems with it. Some users report browser crash, other report that it takes forever to load the home page alone (eventually - does not load). After some inspection, I have come to realize that every one of the reports is from users with IE7. However - I did not make any big changes for time period which is being reported. I know it is probably not something on your end, but perhaps you can somehow assist? I have tried to search forum for problems alike - with no success. |
FrEEzE, I'm using IE7 but I found no problem with my sites. Insert an HTML DOCTYPE DECLARATION so some css styles to work in IE. Check and review your template, css, and html. Or uCoz codes you've used might be corrupted. It might be helpful to restore your template to default.
Here are some tips to make your web pages load faster: > Don't use too many scripts, widgets, flash, large size images, music or audio player. > Avoid using too much large-size images. When styling your site, It's recommended to use background colors than background images. You can get an idea in Facebook (In Facebook, the design is too lousy but page speed is too fast) > Avoid too many tables, CSS is better. > Be patient every time you've encounter problems in uCoz. I say to you that uCoz is the best website builder as long as you study more of its features and codes (plus the implementation of PHP). > ... and don't forget to smile every time you solve a problem. FrEEzE, there were no problems at our end. I was able to access your website in IE without any difficulties. We do not recommend to use IE. You may even put a kind of warning at your website, saying that it is better not use this browser to view your website.

Hi guys, sorry for late response - no time because of work.
khen, Thanks for the tips - but I only use like 2 images on my home page (and one is the site banner). I also don't have gadgets or music, but i will still snoop around to check and see what I can take from your tips. Natashko, personally - I gave up from IE LONG time ago, FF is the only browser for me (yes - it is better then Google Chrome! besides, Google has so much info on me by now... I won't just let them into my house). but my site visitors are mostly kids (that is also why I can't use default template - I have to use a translated one), so I can't ask everyone to switch browsers. Quote (khen) uCoz is the best website builder I will try to work out the issue with the people reporting it... Thanks and have a pleasant evening. |
Hi, I just build my new layout and for "construction period" I put my site "temporarily down". While I worked with template, it looked just fine, but when I deleted the "temporarily down" setting and looked it from users perspective - it's totally wrong with Internet Explorer but wit Firefox just fine. What's wrong? You can look my site from here: http://virtuaalitalli.ucoz.net

HeidiK, try placing the following script inside the HEAD tags:
Code <style type="text/css">body {text-align: center; margin: 0;}</style> If it doesn't work, remove it. I'll try look at another solution for you. |
HeidiK, you layout have some errors. I might suggest to enable tag value:
Code <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/loose.dtd"> Another suggestion is to re-make your template. It involves custom coding and we do not provide help with it. |
