General Information

It is possible to attach a custom domain to your uCoz website, e.g. mysite.com, mysite.net etc., for FREE.

uCoz gives the possibility of full domain management (creation of subdomains, e-mail accounts etc. if a domain is attached by Method 2);
you will be able to create domain-based e-mails (e.g. admin@mysite.com );
you can buy a custom domain at uCoz Domains or any other domain registrar;
you'll be able to register your website in directories which prohibit registration of free websites;
you'll be able to enter banner exchange networks (or advertising companies) where only paid domains are allowed;
with a custom domain users will never lose your website, even if you change the hosting service, the website URL will remain the same;
with a custom domain search engines will give you a higher place in search results.

Question: Can I attach two domains to my website?

Answer: No, it is not possible.

Question: Can I change the ucoz domain, e.g.: mysite.ucoz.co.uk to mysiteEtc.ucoz.co.uk. Is this allowed and how?

Answer: No, once you have chosen a domain name you cannot change it, you can only create a new website.

Question: How do i setup my uCoz web page in my own domain? I did try but failed. I can see this error message:

The domain djcaner.biz has been parked but not yet attached to the account.
Domain has incorrect set of name servers: ns1.hostavrupa.net, ns2.hostavrupa.net
The following list of the name servers must be applied: ns1.ucoz.net, ns2.ucoz.net

Answer: The system gives you the answer: You must change the name servers in the domain control panel (your account on the website where you registered the domain).

What's the difference between Method 2 and Method 3?

When you use Method 2, your new domain is hosted at uCoz servers. If you use Method 3 - you just change the domain name (to be more precise you just get one more name for your site because it will be accessible by both names - the new one and the old one) but your domain remains hosted at another registrar's servers. So the difference is in the place where your new domain is hosted - either at uCoz or not.

Everything loads fine.

Links in the entries must be changed manually. Website's system will always
change automatically, website's content will always be owner's responsibility.

Alright, thanks Dartz.

By the way, my site is a Fanstie for Runescape, and I have Youtube videos on it... And they are not showing up... Will I have to put all 300+ Youtube videos on the site again? O.O.

YouTube videos are content, after address change content isn't affected.

Can you link me to place where are videos meant to be?

Alright, theres a few sections on my site that have Youtube Videos in it.

Go to this Page: http://www.runesync.com/index/skill_guides/0-118

Click on any Skill within that page, and there should be a video that shows up, and the title. The title only shows up.

Your video contains "http://www.bloodsouldesign.com" in the url therefore it
isn't working. You will have to replace videos as well and this time I suggest
to use only YouTube links and not to involve websites current address.

Oh... Forgot about that... Alright, I suppose I have to hold off my promotion for a bit longer now.

I have one more Question, is there any way to default that code into the edit page? I see when you press, "All Codes" it shows how to input a Youtube video with the right code... But is there a way were I can just have the code on the edit pages?

The Google App service is only unavailable for .tk domains. It should work fine with the cz.cc and co.cc ones.

Hello! I want to ask can I set an A record for another IP? For the moment I parked my domain to you and use it for my site. Want to know if I can set for another IP A record , would not become a problem with the domain and with my site. Thank you

Stoyanoff, if you will set another IP, you will park your domain not to your uCoz website but somewhere else, therefore sure it won't work with your uCoz website.

Thanks Sunny. I thought that when parked in uCoz and redirect domain to another IP (set one A record )will have no problem, but it seems wrong.

Stoyanoff, if you use the second method you will transfer the domain to uCoz servers by means of DNS change. Why do you need to change the IP? For what purpose?

I want to hide my IP. (ident@109.121.230.188) I use a shell service and to hide IP must set an A record for the domain to IP in the shell smile

Stoyanoff, it seems to me you confuse the server IP and your own IP. When you attach a domain by the third method, you specify the IP of the uCoz server where your website is located. It has nothing to do with your own IP.
